Cooking Success! (Finally)

Just a few nights ago, I was asked to make mashed potatoes to go with our dinner. I was a little bit worried. You see, I love to cook and bake, but somehow, all my attempts turn out as disasters. You can see in the pictures- banana bread- which I have no idea of why it turned out badly, cookies I made and baked, then put them back in the oven to cook for two minutes, but forgot to set the timer, then I got into my creative mode...oops. And lastly my angel food short cake- I didn't whip it long enough, then, I Picked it up from the bottom and batter came pouring out. I baked it and it had the texture of rubber. I can't say it tasted too good either. But finally I made these mashed potatoes and they turned out wonderfully. Ahh...

Hello, Cutie!

This is a little guy I made a while back and got the pattern from a seller on etsy. It was easy to make but took a while. However, it was extremely inexpensive because I used old denim bermudas and some outgrown pajama pants. I must say, though, for costing so little, he does grab your heart. :)

CELEBRATION!

Day 3- Doodles
Ok, so I just have to say how much I love doodling. It's so fun because something that starts out as nothing can turn into something amazing. This is probably my favorite doodle i've done so far. My favorite part is probably the shooting star or the rain drops!

Celebration

Day 2- Things that still come in glass
I Absolutely love anything that comes in glass. Something about the firmness of it in comparison to plastic just makes me happy. In fact, i've been known to buy something just because it came in glass or was in cute packaging. The last time I did that, I ended up with a disgusting, bitter drink which I spat and dumped out, but I was perfectly fine with the $1.10 I wasted because I got to keep the adorable little bottle. (It's the little one in the picture that says sanbitter.)

7 days of celebration

I keep hearing, reading and thinking that I should blog about everything. So, this week for spring break, I am going to celebrate one thing every day and blog about it.

Day 1 celebration- painted fingernails and toes
I love them so much! Even though I smudge them every time without fail. Oh, well. I can always repaint them.

Its name is dot

Well, this is another of my recent creations. It isn't a guy or a girl, human, alien, animal, or insect. Its name is dot. Now you can try to figure out what that means. I crocheted it about a week ago, and except for the quite bright purple yarn which happens to be K-State's color, the terrible makeshift stitching on his eyes, and the fact that its lining is made out of an old sock, I rather like it. Currently, it is resting on my typewriter, underneath the bar that holds the paper down- whatever that thing is called. I don't know why it's on there, but I suppose that's okay not to have a reason for everything.

Shoes.

Hey, friends! Here are a few of my recent pics. These are from a few days ago when the sun was coming in so beautifully in our entryway so I had to grab the camera. A couple of my favorite shoes and some I stole from someone else's closet :)

Viola!

Drumroll, please... My latest creation! This is a messenger bag I made within the last week out of leftover Heather Bailey fabric. I designed the pattern, so if I was really smart, I would have taken photos during the process so you all could use it, but I didn't. Oh, well. I'll probably sew another one soon and make some sort of a pattern then. I realized a few flaws in it after it was finished, so it's probably better that I didn't make the pattern this time around anyway.
If there's anything you think I could do to improve it, please leave a comment!

Da Studio

Just a couple months ago, when I was talking with a friend, she got me thinking about a place for all my crafts. Before then, i'd been crafting in my room, at the kitchen table, on the step into our family room, in other people's rooms, etc., and I didn't have a space to make a mess and leave it. I mean, not that I need a space, but just for others sanity and convenience I thought it might be nice. So, after brainstorming long and hard we started building... or should I say my dad started building a studio in our storage room. It's about the size of a large walk-in closet and that's the way I like it. But my brother calls it 'the cupboard under the stairs', and when I'm in it he calls me Harry Potter. Oh well, at least I don't have to sleep in it.

A New Trend?

My little sis was doing a project with googley eyes yesterday & a random idea came into my head. Why not put googley eyes on my Converse? (which I love!!!) So I turned my favorite shoes into lovable characters. I attached them with tacky glue so I can take them off or glue them back on easily. Feel free to take this idea and maybe we'll start a new trend.
