Everything Lovely {Day Three: sound}

A lovely day to you, dearies! Wow, I feel terrible. I haven't posted in what... four days? Yeah. It's bad.  But... I will make up for my mistake by posting twice!

Anyway, let's get going with day three: sound!

the sound of...

- typewriters clacking away in another room... or my own :) -

- music. music. music. any kind, any time, any place. -

- r a i n -
(isn't this a great picture? i didn't take it, but i wish i did.)

- the crackling of a bonfire -

- the crunching of leaves beneath my feet -

- the buzzing of my phone, reminding me that i have friends who love me -

- and the satisfying "click" of my dear Hobie (my camera) as i capture the life around me -

A happy rest of your day to you!

{P.S. second and third photos taken from weheartit. All others by me.}
{P.P.S. more to come soon!}

Everything Lovely {Day Two: Taste}

Here's day two: taste! This is gonna be a fun one! :)) But... it may be hard, considering the vast number of  mouthwatering foods I feast on weekly... or sometimes daily. :)

the taste of...

-OREOS-
...enough said. mmmm...

-Cupcakes-
(especially with maraschino cherries!)

 -tea.-
(peppermint, chamomile, sweet. :))

-pancakes-
(a saturday morning ritual, rarely to be broken)

-cotton candy-
(mmm...mmm...mmm! Nothing better than food that is as delicious as it is magical!)

-butterscotch-
(I think this might actually be my favorite candy.)

- i c e  c r e a m -
(yum, yum, yummmmm. I don't quite know what I'd do if I could never have ice cream again... probably curl up and cry for days.)

-tacos-
Mexican food is my favorite... evah.

-cherry cheesecake-
(or any cheesecake for that matter!)

-cashews-
(despite their high price, cashews are one of my favorite munchies.)

-apples-
(and almost all other fruit)

lastly,
-every other kind of sweet treat you can imagine-

Hope you enjoyed this! (And I hope I didn't make you incredibly hungry :))

Much Love, a hug, and sweet dreams to you all!

-Lou

Everything Lovely {Day One: smell}

Good evening, lovelies! Well, I'm starting a series type thing called Everything Lovely. It's a celebration of the senses we've been given. Just imagine the things we wouldn't be able to see, taste, smell, hear, and touch without them!
So here goes day one: smell

the smell of...

-freshly cut grass-

-bread in the oven-

-peonies-

-an old barn with plenty of livestock-

-fried chicken (quite healthy, I know)-

-rain-

-hay-

-clean laundry-

-dirt and mud! :)))))-

-typewriter ribbon ink-

-roses-

-morning dew-

-fall-

-campfires-

-cinnamon-

There you have it! More to come tomorrow!

Love, Lou

{P.S. I'm off to do homework... yay. :P}
{P.P.S. I'm having questions about the letter I sent today after an interaction I had this evening. :/}

Following a very mondayish school day, a Norman Rockwell documentary, and Body Pump at the gym, Libby and I went on a stroll through the neigborhood.
There is something about a brisk autumn walk that is so refreshing. It sets the imagination free. Everything from the leaves and trees to acorns, squirrels and children playing all mix together to make a beautiful song that keeps playing in our head until you fall asleep. Through our walk, the two of us discussed everything on our minds. And I mean everything. But the good thing about talking on walks is that we're usually in a good mood and rarely get into petty arguments and fights.

Changing the subject, I know I never really explained about the *someone*, but long story short, things were good and then they went bad, so we haven't talked. Or should I say he hasn't talked to me. I may explain some other time. Maybe. Anyway, I have resolved to write a letter, asking for an explanation. Asking for the reason why communication ceased so abruptly. Explaining that I'm not angry at him (anymore). Saying that I don't need him to like me or date me or anything like that, I just want to be friends.  I feel like I need to do this because I'm afraid that if we don't talk sometime, every sunday and every wednesday for the next four years will be filled with awkward-ness and lingering confusion. I don't want sadness, confusion, awkwardness, or any other emotions to get in the way of worship.
So what do you think of this idea? I'd love to know your opinions! :))

Much Love, hugs, crunchy leaves, buttercream frosting, comfy sweaters, and very sweet dreams to you all!!!

Back then...

Lately I've been realizing how much things have changed since I was a little girl. I headed outside and, surprising myself, I plopped onto the swing in my backyard- the swing I used to spend hours on every day. I hadn't touched that thing in months until I used it this afternoon. Strange how things gradually change over time, and we don't even realize it. I mean, it's not like one day I said "I'm not going to swing on this thing anymore". I guess as we grow up these habits just keep decreasing until they don't exist anymore.

back then I sat in the yard making mud dishes and stews.

now if I'm in the backyard I'm usually picking up dog poop or taking photos.

back then I did ballet,

hid in linen closets,

 spent hours playing with my sister,

and read book after book to her.

now I do track, don't hide in linen closets very often (except on rare occasions), don't "play" with my sister like we used to, and I don't remember the last time I read a book to her. But she's growing up too, I guess.

However, some things don't  really change.

back then I liked to cook. and...

now I still like to cook.

back then I liked to ride horses. and...

now I still enjoy it.

back then I loved s'mores and getting sticky... and anything sweet. :)

now I still do... probably even more!

And... back then I was a goober.

needless to say, I still am now. :)

I hope you enjoyed this! Much Love and a hug!
